Garmin Quick Release Lanyard, Standard Packaging

  • Save\'s me from dropping it out of my vest in the field and having to replace the transmitter again.... low profile and fits well through the special Garman hole
  • Another just what I needed item. The lanyard rope is heavy duty. Not like some of the badge ID lanyards that are basically shoelaces. The quick release is a simple plastic buckle but is very useful. So far, no issues with anything.
  • Perfect for my Garmin sport pro
  • A GPS for hiking requires a lanyard, which Garmin realizes. They used to provide a perfectly fine one with all of their units. But now you must buy an additional product, junk in my opinion, to make your unit functional. This lanyard is vastly overbuilt --who in the word need a \"quick release\" when a piece of nylon cord will work fine? Unfortunately, there is no way to attach simple cord to the Garmin GPS units, by profit-motivated design I suspect. This after market lanyard t is too short to be functional and adds 30% of the weight of a Etrex 32x. Shame on you Garmin! Go back to providing, simple, functional lanyards with your GPS units!
  • Great
  • Nice lanyard. The safety breakaway connector is nice and strong. I was worried about it being too easy to come open with the weight of a GPS receiver hanging on it, but it is very secure. It\'s definitely not coming open unless it needs to.I did have to tighten up the knots on the small cord. They looked like they could come loose. No big deal though, and easy to do.
  • Seemed like a good lanyard at first but one side of the small strings knot came undone and pulled out of the plastic housing. I was snorkeling with my phone and could have lost it forever! Luckily the string didn’t slip through because the loose end tangled with itself. I wouldn’t expect this to happen to all of them but make sure you give a good tug test because whoever is tying the knots may not be doing a great job.
  • Very robust with a stout D-clip. Wish the rope around the neck was less stiff. This is a good option for something heavy like a phone or GPS. Wouldn\'t use it for something like a USB flash drive. It is overkill for small devices like an ID set or USB drive. This should last me awhile. Hopefully the rope will soften up a bit.
