- So happy I purchased it! Was scepticle about the high cost, but it is worth it! Never get lost in a strange town, it will always take you back home or your starting point!
- We\'ve had two precursors to this computer... the Garmin 500 and the Garmin 520 Plus. This one has a better display, better functionality, boots up quicker, and has better communications capabilities. The form factor is roughly the same as our prior units, but they have changed the buttons making them difficult to use when hands are cold, wet or wearing gloves. On the older units I had the buttons protruded further and were of a texture that was easier to press/hold. This one seemingly has plastic buttons, very low profile, without any texture on them. So, finding and pressing a button is not at all easy. I bought from this one supplier to get the padded \'case\' or whatever they call it, but i had to take the case off since I could neither find, nor push the buttons when the case was on. I\'m also suspicious of the charging port due to the redesign from the prior models. The plug that closes the port seems to not fit as well as the old rubber plug on the prior models. I haven\'t had an issue due to that yet, but I keep expecting one. I don\'t normally ride in the rain, but if I did, I would think the new charging port cover would work less well than the old one does/did. Yes, I would buy again, and yes I prefer it to the competing models from Garmin in roughly the same price range.
- Delivered early. Includes a nice mounting unit. There is a big learning curve to using it effectively.
- Out of the box this device is great. It includes several ways to mount it on your bike, so you don\'t need any additional accessories. I have a road bike and a MTB, and it includes enough mounts for both bikes.You will need some time to get used to the Garmin interface and customize the screens as you like, but it is not so difficult. Also make sure to update the Software immediately as it tends to come with and old software out of the box.Now, I got the bundle with silicone case and screen glass because I wanted some extra protection when using the MTB (I tend to fall very often :) ), the screen protector included is nice, it has 2 and are of a good quality, but the silicone case is one of these cheap rubber cases, it does not fit snug on the device and makes de buttons to be hard to press while riding. Also the case does not look as the one shown in the picture of the product.
- Not the most user friendly but easy to get to know and access once you have everything programmed and ready to go. Wish the Apple Watch had avg heart rate so it would copy this information to Fitness but everything else syncs. The app syncs well with Strava. The best part is how long the battery lasts in a single charge I get several weeks with my riding schedule. Another think I like is that when paired to my phone I get to see txt or receive calls on the device. The dim feature is nice saves battery life. The device is extremely light weight feels delicate on the hand.
- I’m very happy with this Garmin 530 kit. It comes with all of the accessories you need. Everything works well. This model has buttons not a touch screen. The heart rate sensor sometimes needs little sweat to make contact/ signal.
- The Garmin Edge 530 is a great introduction to mapping your routes and keeping track of your fitness. It does sync up nicely to your smartphone with the Garmin app for better tracking. The UI is a little clunky and takes time to getting use to, but if you want better move up to the next version. I would recommend this for biking.
