- I\'ve Got The brick House security 140 day system about a month ago and during that month I was doing my test. So far is looking pretty good looking at the battery percentage drainage I might get to 140 days. it\'s lost about 20% in 28 days. I think that\'s good and if it keeps draining that way I should make it to 140 days but even if it does not make it to 140 I\'m pretty sure 120 will be really easy and that\'s good enough for me to be honest. While using system for a month now it\'s been very reliable and no hiccups so far. The product itself is well made nice big battery I like that it has a battery also built inside the system with one extra included. The case is also well made nice seal, cushion in the inside with eight strong magnets on the outside with a nice strong clasp holding it together. I give the product five stars during my test and usage so far. Usage for me is on a dirt trailer that we use to haul debris and it works fine on that big out in the elements. I would like to also mention Belle Almario she was very helpful during the setup process and even called back with a follow-up call to make sure everything was working correctly. ThanksPs. The mobile app is really great and also the computer side program is really good and informative everything right at your fingertips very easy to navigate just the right tools to get the information you need from your system.
- I have tried several GPS tracking units for my vehicle but there is no unit that does it all. This is the one! It can track every 5 seconds if necessary, you can share the location with others and it is accurate. We live outside city limits with rural roads and this unit has no problem with accuracy. Most importantly the battery pack has lasted weeks with a 30 second interval and now I have upgraded to a 5 second interval and the tracker is sitting at 84%. Magnetic mounting case has a very strong hold, have to use both hands to remove from vehicle. The app is great as it logs me right in, others would send me to a website and require me to input my credentials every time…slowing down any attempt locate. Absolutely love this product. No need to try other units as this has it all. Just buy it, you won’t regret it. I want to especially thank Aira for prompt customer service. It is rare this day and age that a company provides such service. Thank you.
- this is a cautionary tale in case you\'re looking to get the GPS device with 140 day charge. I have a spark nano with the weather resistant case. That device is excellent but it only has a 2-week battery life. I love the brickhouse monitoring app. it\'s very easy to understand comparative to other monitoring apps, and the reporting function is great. One of the things I love is you can see a location history in normal English and see exactly the time and the location of whatever you\'re tracking. I liked it so much, I wanted to upgrade to a device with a longer battery life so I opted for the extended battery device. it boasted of 140 days holding a charge, based on your monitoring/refesh options. so I ordered the device and noticed it was freaking huge. The battery pack that came with it was like a bank of 8 AA batteries. then the magnetic case that surrounded everything made it look like 3/4 of a brick. Yes, I\'m talking about a masonry brick that you see in buildings. I figured what the heck let me try it out anyway. so I charged it up and slapped it on the vehicle, and don\'t you know, my kid, who was driving the car, noticed it PDQ. My car is a 2007 Jetta and my kid drives that car. Jettas, at least the car that I have, has a barrier between the road and the mechanical parts so you can\'t easily find a place to stick the magnetic device. I had to pull that barrier away from the underside of the car in order to find some kind of metal to stick the device to. okay, i got the damn thing positioned, put everything back nice and neat, and my kid takes the vehicle out. well he goes over a low freaking speed bump or something and pulls the barrier away from the vehicle - my kid, being a considerate kid - noticed it and got down on his hands and knees and tried to put the barrier back in place and lo and behold he found the tracking device. needless to say a very lengthy conversation ensued. so if you\'ve got a place to put something the size of 3/4 of a brick on the undercarriage of your vehicle, go for it. I like the app, I like to device, customer service was wonderful, but I wouldn\'t recommend it if you have a vehicle that\'s low to the ground .
- I\'ve used other GPS tracking units and for me, their usefulness really boils down to a few things: 1. Does the device provide meaningful location data, 2. Is the battery life long enough not to be a hassle and 3. Is the tracking software any good? This Brickhouse unit does at least an adequate job in all these areas. Just like any GPS tracker that I\'ve used sometimes I\'ll get a location \"ping\" that has an odd margin of error, but overall the tracking is on par with other units I have used that cost more than twice as much. The battery life seems to be pretty good. After a full charge and a few trips that were about 20-30 minutes, I have about 72% battery life left over a 2 week time period. I\'m not sure 180 days is realistic, but for my use I could see myself getting 1-2 months based on usage. As for the software, I think this is the weakest link here (and probably the easiest for Brickhouse to improve.) Although there are a ton of features in the software, I find it to be extremely difficult to navigate and find what I\'m looking for. I was also under the impression that the unit would report if the vehicle was \"idle\" (i.e. engine on, with some vibration detected by the tracker, but no distance being traveled.) Unfortunately so far I\'ve only seen any indication that the vehicle is \"parked.\" There is no distinction between a completely motionless, parked vehicle (i.e. engine off) and one that is idling. This is a feature that would be extremely useful to me.Overall this seems to be a solid unit that is a good buy for the price. I\'d like to see Brickhouse streamline the software so that it\'s not so busy, and I\'d really like to have/find the ability to track a vehicle that is idling.
