Garmin Forerunner 935 - Tri Bundle
- I have been using it for almost a year and I am incredibly satisfied. There have only been a handful of occasions where acquiring GPS signal was slow (usually locks within seconds) and only a couple of times where the watch crashed during a workout; even then the workouts were retrieved so no data loss.It tracks my sleep patterns which seems accurate but have nothing to compare it with. The stress feature seems to also be capturing something as it almost always coincides with my impression. The HR-tri running dynamics metrics are fun to have and it seems that whenever I am borderline injured (or return from injury), this is reflected with an increase in imbalance of Ground Contact Time Balance metric. The very basic map feature is sufficient for me, even though you can\'t see anything on the background (as in the Garmin 5x or 945). I only wish it had music but it\'s not a big problem and it is the only feature I am kind of missing in comparison to the newer Garmin 945. Maybe I will update when 955 comes out, if ever.Very pleased with my purchase! I recommend this product
- I was really looking forward to this watch, but unfortunately it doesn\'t seem to do all that it should. I am a recreational triathlete with a strong swimming background. I typically place in female overall category. Here are the issues with the watch:1). The swimming heart rate monitor RARELY synchs. I have tried two garmin swimming monitors. The first one synched only half the time. I just went ahead and purchased a new one. The first day it synched and then it never synched again. Very disappointing since my main work outs are swimming.2). The wrist heart rate is rarely correct. I can understand perhaps it being off for interval type training, but I can hop on a treadmill at the gym and get a reading with the hand sensors that is much higher and accurate. When I get off the treadmill, I take my pulse old school with fingers on my neck and count. So, the watch says I am at 60 and I am easily at 130 BPM. I have tried tightening it and positioning it differently on my arm but that doesn\'t seem to make a difference.3). Because my pulse is always reading lower, it has ridiculously fast race predictor times for running.4). The calorie count is definitely odd. I swam a 4000 yard workout with a good portion of it being butterfly. After each rep of the main set, I was winded enough to not be able to speak. The whole workout was an 1 hour and 20 minutes with the main set taking 30 minutes. The watch said I burned 362 calories. The next day I ride a trainer bike for one hour while watching TV at a moderate pace. It says I burned 661 calories. I suspect it\'s because the swimming heart rate monitor doesn\'t work, but the swim workout definitely was more intense and longer than the bike ride. One good thing - the GPS works really well. The running pace and biking speed on the watch is spot on. However, for the price of this watch I would expect to have more accurate heart rate data, especially in the pool. I will be reaching out to garmin and will update this review if there is a way this can be worked out.
- Overall I really like the bundle, however I believe the two star is warranted based on the HRM Tri Chest Strap dying after just over a year (literally 1 year 1 month exactly) from purchase/receipt. Other than that, I\'m happy with the purchase. I still wish the face of the Forerunner 935 was metal like the Fenix series, especially for the price. But for a Tri watch, I get it.I did do a bit of research and it seems like many other folks are having this same trouble with their HRM Tri Chest Strap dying just before, or just after a year of having it. For something that costs upwards of $130 to replace, a year for it isn\'t good in my opinion. I still have the older chest strap that still works fine, just doesn\'t give you all the analytics that you pay for getting the Tri version.
- I love this watch! I had an the Forerunner 620 before and it was just okay. Not great battery life, bad charging system that required constant replacement and connectivity issues. This watch is the opposite. I use it all the time now as it counts steps, analyzes sleep, and provides a long list of other metrics. I absolutely love this watch! And it provides great insight into my daily running. If you\'re a runner or participate in most other athletic activities, this is the watch for you!
- New to the forerunner community but I\'ve been impressed so far. Batter life is much better than my other watches, even when working out multiple times a day with gos and HRM. Recommend it for sure.
- Does everything I wanted for training, great battery life (7 days of continuous use and still at 28%), I ditched my watch and just wear this
- I upgraded from 910xt, this is the perfect watch for me. It has everything you can ask for, plus it is very light weight so you can wear it every day too. Everything about it is great so far, I\'ve been using it for about 2 months. haven\'t found any flaws yet and I use it heavily for four sports.
- Review? It\'s the best multisport watch on the market, hands down. If you are looking at this watch, you already know this, pull the trigger and spend the money for one of the best pieces of equipment you will use in your gear.
