• To follow-up after a few months of use. Nothing short of amazed. It reports vehicle speed,,even is vehicle is cornered too hard ,location down to 20ft accuracy, even opening a trunk sends a motion alert to my cell when car is parked. In even alerted everytime it loses a gps signal from driving in a tunnel(or someone loading your $100k car into a metal box trailer!!) The units performs 100% same as day 1!! Would Definately buy again.After carefully weighing pros and cons of several gps trackers(ex. Amazon reviews,buy cost,monthly fees,ease of setup and install, removable or hidden, features such as impact/ acceleration/ deceleration /ignition on/off/parked notification), lifetime warranty!!!)I narrowed it down to Optimus and another similar well rated unit on amazon. After reading several pages reviews for both units..it seemed the optimus device ,tho had more features I was looking for,,had a few reviews about accuracy, and units that died very fast or discharged or ruined vehicle charging system??. I started to get the impression the reviews were false or intentionally negative from a competitor. Being a retired aerospace engineer and auto enthusiast, I know its not even remotely possible for a gps tracker that only draws 100milli amps.(CAR BATTERIES ARE 400-700AMPS,ALTERNATORS ARE 100-200AMPS APROX). So there is no way that these tiny devices could damage a vehicle system in any way. Even if a wire was to directly short out,simply it would just blow a fuse!! Also it didnt make sense since optimus claimed to have many commercial fleets using their product. Ups, fed ex,etc cant have malfunctioning gps systems for their fleet,it wouldn\'t happen for long,and optimus would be out of business by offering a lifetime guarantee if their products if they died quickly?? So I called to ask customer service at both of the companies i was considering. 1 did not take calls/ redirected me to send an email requesting support and wait for a call back. I dont have that sort of time or patience (very common now in a c19 world)..the other company(optimus), not only answered every call ,took calls up to 10pm est at night on 3 different occasions, were friendly /helpful/knowledgeable,,but even went to discuss implementing a custom software modification with their engineer,so my devices sensors could also detect light impacts/ tampering while parked. I was surprised they accommodated my request and took all of 10min to remotely update my devices software from another state, thru the air with a cell signal!!! The photo i posted is my optimus gv75 built in device being updated and tested prior to install on my very cluttered work bench,,to verify the sensitivity of the tamper sensor modifications,, making sure they were in the ballpark.worked as requested 1st time out!!.Soon as unit was powered up,after the simple 1 minute app download and 2minute registration process on the optimus website, it immediately pinged my cell with emails and texts from my gv75 device with alerts for being powered on and updating with its location..and this was inside my metal roof garage were no one can even talk on a cell phone without dropping a call!!But being skeptical still after the negative reviews id read, I continued testing it for aprox 2 more hour\'s and shook it a dozen more times to verify the sensitvity functions alert me the way i wanted. I noticed accuracy is good down to about 50ft,,which later optimus support explained was only that far off due to the metal roof preventing some satellites from communicating to giving the exact location. I was extremely impressed and plan to purchase more of the obd2 plug in versions for family members that aren\'t able to hardwire theirs in. I dont write reviews often but felt this product needed a clearer more detailed review.With the slight modification to the opimus device, it now not only is a gps locator/tracker and speed sensor,but a security device with built in battery back up to alert me if ignition is turned on, vehicle power is disconnected, or vehicle is impacted or being tampered with while parked!!! No other gps tracker has these features (non that I could find at least), came with lifetime replacement warranty, fantastic customer service day or night, and your own engineer to customize your device in the blink of an eye( the last benefit im sure will have its limitations, lol)!!! Im sold on their product and wouldn\'t be surprised to see this company expand in this field from the A++ support i experienced. Im not affiliated with the company and was not compensated for my review in any way..Hope the review helps.
• Installed this on a Cigarette boat. Nothing like having peace and mind. Either look on your computer or have the app. Very accurate. Would be nice if you received a text along with the email. Tells you it has moved.
• I have 4 company vehicles and all of them have these. They work great and it\'s easy to monitor
• Works well, easy to install. I use this on my ATV, it stays connected directly to the battery all the time, the draw is minimal at best. It does have an internal battery if you want to put it on a switch, such as your ignition.My only complaint is the notifications, it does tend to send notifications that the device is detecting movement when it\'s really not, which can be concerning if your main use for this is to prevent/track theft of your assets.
• This is the second model that I\'ve tried from OptimusTracker. The first was GB100M which had serious accuracy problems. I returned that one and gave this one a shot. So far, it\'s been much better. Significantly more complicated to install but not bad someone with experience in electrical work. The hardest part was finding the right circuit to tap into. Tech support is very good. There\'s a chat link right there on the user interface. Emails are usually responded to same day.
• I am a 35 year experienced 12 volt installer and I have purchased SO many of these kinds of GPS units looking for a quality, easy to use, and inexpensive for all my exotics and classic car customers. They are all JUNK compared to this unit. 1st of all, the cost is only $13 a month. 2nd, the customer app and browser interface are super simple to use. 3rd, the service was EXCEPTIONAL! I like to give my customers a 2nd peace of mind as to manually disable vehicle thru the browser or app. This requires additional install parts and labor but works SO GOOD. The commands are instant and GPS unit wakes up in same state if power is disconnected and then reconnected. The app and browser show power state, battery charge and unit signal at a quick glance. The units settings allow a mobile or SMS number to report to for battery disconnect, Ign on/off (extra wiring), and loss of unit signal. I would recommend professional installation for extra wiring and parts for IGN sense or vehicle disable... I did have to call the toll free customer service number to get additional activation for output 1 & 2. Big shout out to Dainel M. and Fernando. They both knew exactly what to do and had me up and running in 10 minuets. I cant say enough about the GV75MG. Its tiny, the battery has lasted 6 days so far off of the main power source and still has 24% battery life, Its accurate down to 3 feet so far and the GPS speedometer is good for tracking how fast its going.Needless to say for the price of the unit and activation cost, there simply is nothing better out there.
• I originally purchased one of these for a vehicle that has a high theft rate. I have notifications set for movement. Thinking it would need to move some distance before getting a notification I was surprised when simply opening the door would send an instant notification to my phone. And I mean instant. My phone would ping before I had time to even get all the way in. This provides a tremendous amount of security. Tracking routes and seeing position in real time on a map is icing on the cake.I\'ve recently purchased a second tracker and installed it. It works just as well. I spend time setting these up so they are difficult to access, hidden from sight, and hardwired within the vehicles factory harness so they are practically undetectable to thieves who know what they are looking for. Very impressive devices, software and app.
