  • When this first arrived I tried it out and the suction didn\'t take so I thought maybe it had to do with it missing the protective film so I sent it back for a replacement. And receiving the new one it still won\'t stay mounted. I am trying to mount it below the dash (vertically) so maybe if I mounted on the dash (horizontally) it would stick better but I am replacing an older mount and would like to keep it in the same place. And unfortunately I am unable to use the vent mount because I have circle vents that are not compatible. I\'ll try to find someone who wants a dash or windshield mount and report back how it works for them...
  • iHome is a brand that seems to have been around for quite some time, but I believe this is the first MagSafe-compatible car charger I\'ve seen from them. The MagDrive Charge appears to be a multi-piece kit for MagSafe-compatible iPhone models, but you still need to supply the actual power source. First off, the charging puck is a square plastic piece equipped with a number of magnets. It has a USB-C input, and a USB-C-to-USB-A cable is included (3 ft). The puck can be attached to either the included vent clip, or the included arm assembly which ends in a suction cup. That suction cup can be attached to a dashboard or windshield, and the arm can be moved into various angles. As mentioned, an actual power source is not included. The manual mentions that a QuckCharge 3.0 or USB-PD charger should work, as long as it is capable of supplying 18W.In practice, I saw wild power fluctuations with a QC 3.0 power source; USB-PD was much more consistent in delivering up to 10W to a case-less iPhone 13 Pro, as well an iPhone 14 Pro Max in a MagSafe-compatible case.As far as the mounts are concerned, the vent mount is very basic. The suction cup mount works well on glass; your mileage will vary based on what your dashboard surface is like.Overall, this is a bit pricey but the charging works well (if you\'re using USB-PD) up to 10W, and the magnets hold strong.
  • I got this for my Samsung 22 Ultra with a Mag safe case. It works although the charge is very slow. I\'m not sure if that is because of the charger or the phone so I didn\'t knock a star off for that. I did however knock a star off because I can only use it in the vent, the dash mount doesn\'t stay stuck to my dash and that was why I wanted this one.
  • I use this at my desk and so far it seems like it’s pretty good quality. The charger works alright and it does hold my phone upright without falling over.
  • First, this is for phones with magnetic/wireless charging (for example iPhone 12 series and newer). Phones that do not have that capability will not work because the only thing keeping the phone mounted is a magnet, nothing else. If your phone is an iPhone 11 series or older, this isn\'t the mount for you. That being said, I had a few issues with this. I have a 2014 Subaru Forester and whatever my dashboard is made of, the suction cup wouldn\'t stick to it. It seemed like it was stuck but then as soon as I tried to stick my phone on (iPhone 12 mini, so probably as small/light as a phone that works can be), it would unstick. I don\'t like vent mounted phone holders so that option wouldn\'t work for me (although it is nice that it is an option). I did end up sort of wedging it in one of the larger nooks my car has. It stays pretty well and the magnet is strong and holds my phone well, keeping my cupholders free for other things.I can\'t speak to the charging abilities, since my car doesn\'t have places that I could plug it in and not have the cord in the way. It also requires a USB C cord, which isn\'t the standard for iPhone so it would be nice if that cord was included since, although it isn\'t hard to find one, it wouldn\'t necessarily be something iPhone users have lying around. In the right circumstances, this might be a good phone mount. I\'ve adjusted it for my purposes and am happy with it. I do think the price is a little much since the suction cup, although cool and easily adjustable, seems not to adhere to all dashboards well enough to be used, even when holding up a relatively light phone.
  • This is one of the best magnetic chargers I own. The suction holds even after removing it and placing it in another part of the vehicle. The magnets are very powerful and have not caused any drops while driving. Definitely recommend this product.
  • I needed to find a mag charger that had both a vent and suction mount, and this was the BIG winner.I\'ve trusted the iHome name before, so I figured this was gonna be a very good quality product and I was right.Every part of this is great, including the vent mount and the suction mount. I\'m extremely happy that it uses now a standard USB-C charger and included the cable in the box.It does have 10 W quick charge, and there are other faster ones on the market, but I have no issues with the charging speed of this device. Lastly, it\'s swivels, 360° effortlessly, so when you need to rotate the phone you don\'t have to worry about it falling off.
  • This charges my iPhone 14, not super fast or anything but it keeps my phone from dying when I\'m using it for navigation and stuff. The magnet is super strong and keeps my phone from slipping even when I drive a little crazy. It can hold it fine through my silicone case but the thicker protective case I did have wasn\'t working with any magnetic chargers so I won\'t count that against this one. I love having options on how to attach it, I currently have it clipped to a vent, but I might switch to the suction cup soon. I won\'t ever attach things to the dash, I live in Houston, and my car can get up to 120F when parked in direct sunlight, so I\'m worried that the adhesive would warm up enough and detach and I don\'t want to have to deal with the residue, but the vent feature works great and is adjustable to be able to angle it however you need to to see a GPS while you\'re driving.
