- The unit has been great, but I cant say it has been perfect. While majority of the time my phone will connect automatically there are times where my phone will just not connect to the wireless car play. Usually a few restarts will resolve the issue. The speaker built in the unit is not going to really be used if you are going to use your car speakers. The mirror function is also great for displaying videos. Overall this unit was a good purchase.
- This is a great product that fills the gap in the market where owners are looking to upgrade an older head unit but don\'t want to spend the money or the effort replacing the stock unit. The size of the 7\" model is just about perfect, although I am sure the 9\" or 10\" model would be great if I had more space for it. I use wireless Android Auto primarily and have been very impressed with the performance and responsiveness.I was surprised by the quality of the internal EQ and and the audio performance in general. The EQ works very wall and gives me more control of the sound than I was expecting.
- I installed this in my can am defender using a ram mount. It is perfect. I had a problem with the backup camera. I was told that the camera may not be compatible so I ordered the one that was recommended by the seller. The camera (cheap) came with a new RCA video cable with the 2.5mm end. I discovered it was not a camera issue, it was my original video cable. I kept my old camera and used the new cable. Great product, unless there is a longevity issue.
- The media could not be loaded. The non-suction mount has a showstopper of a flaw. I will be returning this because of it. The mounting based that you can screw on (few will) or use included adhesive pad has the a screw thing to adjust and tighten the Horizontal angle, which works perfect. However, the side to side adjustment of this (call it rotation) is held tight, or not, but a screw from the bottom. The bottom that gets stuck down to the car by the adhesive. So if you ever have to twist this side to side for any reason, intentional or not, it will lose the screw and it can never be tightened without taking it off the dash and thus requiring another adhesive pad. It will only get worse if it gets even a little loose. Every bump will cause it to loosen just a tad until this is rattling around and being worthless.Below is old review - worth readingThis fills a need that some will have. If you have a car where you A) cannot replace head unit - like it literally cannot be done because the factory one also is the HVAC or whatnot - like ford sync 2 or B) do not want to, this can get you a bigger screen for CarPlay or AA.I have a nice MagSafe mount for my iPhone 13 Pro and can use it as my daily car navigation . . . but Waze has burned into my OLED screen and that makes me so mad. But I do not want to replace the head unit in this car, even though I could - it is just very low in my dash and not easy to see Waze on.So this solves my problem completely. I use wireless carplay and it seems to work flawlessly for how I need to use it. Just pull up waze or google maps or Apple Maps and go. I still bluetooth to my car radio to play music or pods or books from my phone while connected to this. You will not want to use it for sound as it is terrible. yes, on my phone sometimes I have to change BT audio to Mazda and not this, but CarPlay stays connected just fine.if you are wanting to fully interact with this for all kinds of stuff, the screen is not super responsive or great, but for what I am using it for, it is perfect.And odd complaint - it is powered by USB-C (which is great, all things should be) but it will not power on if your USB power is too powerful. the included cig lighter charger works perfectly, but if you only have one sig spot you likely want to power something in addition to this. Most modern 2 port USB C car chargers put out a lot of power to fast charge modern things . . . this thing will not boot with too much power, which seems odd. USB standard should allow for limiting the power coming in. Anyhow, I am sure about this as I have played with this inside my house with all kinds of USB chargers. older ones will fire this thing right up. newer ones will not.So in my case I had to order a 2 way car charger that is high power for USB C port and lower 5v power on its USB A port. then just use an A to C to power this.
