  • I have six units. Product works as advertised and described. Easy to use, mount, etc. I have \"enclosed\" utility trailers and I have them INSIDE the trailer and it works. Occasionally, if my trailers are in a particularly bad cell area reporting in can be a problem. But that is not the units fault... that\'s just crappy cell service and even my team can\'t call out on their phones. But here\'s the kicker... I had a \"bad\" unit... really it wasn\'t bad. It worked just fine but it sounded like something was loose inside. It was not a big deal but i was slightly concerned that bumping around in the back of trailer might make it fail. So I wrote to customer service. They responded in less than 30 minutes. I answered a few questions and they said they were sending a new unit. I wrote to them to ask a few other questions and again, they responded within 10-15 minutes. I did that several times. Each time... a 10-20 minute response. I just the the \"replacement\" unit in and sent them the email I had it in my possession and needed to swap the subscription over. I hit \"enter\" and clicked the stopwatch... it was crazy... something like 9 minutes and they responded and had moved everything over.So... to summarize... the unit works as described and will be a great tool for me (most used and theft recovery for the trailer) but the customer service will keep me coming back. Mediocre customer service can be the norm these days... Trak4 has absolutely mastered the art of excellent customer service.Mike
  • I am a private detective and use these for specific reasons depending on the case. When I began shopping for a tracking device I had some concerns specific to my needs. Mainly that the device provide the physical address and not just the coordinates. Of course I also require accuracy and ease of use. I would say overall it’s pretty accurate, not perfect but for the most part it’s real time and can be extremely accurate most of the time. They have a web site and an app, one does one thing well and is lacking on the other, and the opposite is true for the other. The app provides real time tracking the web site does not. The app does not provide a specific address just the street and coordinates. The web site does not track in real time but provides the specific physical address when at rest. Kind of annoying because it’s a simple fix. So when in use and mobile, I have both my laptop running their site and my cell phone running the app. It’s like Mission Control in my truck and I have to jump back and fourth. Aside from that I am happy with it, the device price is a steal and the service is very reasonable. The best part is that you can start and stop the service as you please. They are very customer oriented. I would recommend this product considering all of the research I did on their competitors and believe this was the lesser of all the evils.
  • The tracker overall works great however there should be bundle plan for multiple trackers
  • Battery life depletes quicker with elite subscription but very good with basic which is what we will use for our boat.
  • UPDATE: I just pulled my tracker out of my frame the other day to charge it, because I received notification that the battery just went below 20% (that’s a convenient notification, because I don’t have to pull it out to check battery life. Instead, you receive a text and email alert when it’s below threshold - I have mine set at 20%). And you can check the battery percentage on the website at any time. So it went about 2 months without needing to be charged, which is EXACTLY what I was hoping for. Still totally satisfied with these trackers.I bought my Trak4 GPS to track my expensive e-Mountain Bike. Between having a good, alarmed bike lock (ABUS Bordo Big Alarm 6000A Folding Lock) and having the GPS tracker, it\'s much cheaper than insuring my bike for theft. After giving my Trak-4 tracker a full charge, and registering it, I installed it in a neoprene camera pouch (to keep it from bouncing around and being noisy) and slid it up inside my frame tube before I inserted the battery back into the frame. It\'s not an easy operation - takes a few minutes to get it in there, and get the battery reinstalled, so I wanted a tracker that would have a long battery life. This seemed like the best option. So far, in a month\'s worth of use, riding trails around the area, the battery is still at 100%, so that\'s a good sign that it will last many months before having to pull it out and recharge it.I like the web-based interface too, and the ability to setup multiple custom geozones. I\'ve setup a geozone for home, which is in my neighborhood, and then I\'ve setup geozones for my city, and all the surrounding cities. I took the tracker with me on a road trip in the car, and sure enough, I was notified each time I left a geozone and entered a new geozone. So that worked well. The one thing that I\'m wrestling with - with the basic frequency subscription (1-hour while moving with daily check-in) is on shorter rides around my house. When I leave my Home Geozone, I\'m guessing that if the sample rate for a GPS update isn\'t coinciding with the time that I leave my home, I don\'t get a notification that it has left my Home geozone. But once I\'m out and going, and then come back, I do get a notification that it has re-entered my Home geozone. It would be nice if it could recognize that it\'s moving, and start the more-frequent sampling at that time, rather than waiting for the full hour of the frequency to elapse before making a sampling, and determining if it is moving at that time.Regardless of that one issue that I note above, I\'m still happy with the tracking it is providing, and feel confident that if my bike were stolen, this would help in recovering it. So much so that I bought a second one for my wife\'s eBike as well.
