Garmin Carrying Case for Edge or Forerunner (010-10718-01)
- I bought the Garmin Carrying case for my Garmin Edge 800. This product is advertised for the Edge or Forerunner, and I have both and was able to try various fits for both items. This case barely fits all the accessories that come with your Edge or Forerunner. I am able to carry my device, heart rate monitor and strap, and power cord comfortably, but that\'s about it. If you have additional accessories for a Forerunner, such as a watch band, charger, various power converters, pedometer, etc., it might not all fit or be very tight for travelling long distances (air travel, etc.). If you are just going out for an event locally, it will fit all the essential items you need you need to bring with you that day. As for the design itself, it looks appealing and has two inside pockets to store items. It is a mesh case, with little padding. It breathes well, but don\'t expect it will protect your device from damage if you drop it. My latest solution? I bought a small padded camera case that fits my Garmin Edge and put that in the Garmin Case for day trips.
- I had read a review that said that the Garmin Forerunner 225 and it\'s charger, would not fit in this case. They were WRONG. I hesitated to buy this as a result of that \"faulty\" review. When you open the case, it splits apart. Each side has a netting pocket. I would imagine if you and yours, had Garmin watches, that you\'d be able to store both of them, with chargers in this case. Very pleased with my purchase. Nowadays, even if it isn\'t protection you are seeking, this case helps keep the watch and charger together, especially when we live in a world where everything needs its own charger. Highly Recommend, plus the low price makes this a no-brainer.
- It\'s hard to say if this was worth it. It\'s just a zippered case that has some soft padding around the edge to keep its shape. So the inside is just one open area and both faces have a net that you can slide stuff into. The outside is mesh so it\'s very breathable. Good if you put your gear back in while wet or sweaty.I got it to secure my Forerunner 405 in a way where it won\'t constantly sense rubbing on it\'s bezel and therefore be dead when I need it after it\'s been traveling in my suitcase. Tucking the watch in one of the mesh sides will most likely accomplish this and there is room in there for the heart-rate monitor (if you bend it) and the charger. Though I\'m not sure it makes life simpler since most the things you put in here need to just be loose in the middle. It\'s not like there\'s a dedicated spot for all those things, but for that then Garmin would have to design a special case for every Forerunner. Even if things are tucked into the net they\'ll still bulge into the main space, so there will never be a quick and obvious way to arrange your gear.I have the sony headphone mp3 player ([...]) and was hoping this would fit nicely in this thing so all my running gadgets would be contained. It will, but like the heart-rate monitor, it takes some flexing. If I was still using a separate mp3 player plus ear buds then they\'d fit good in one of the mesh pockets.It\'s good for keeping stuff together and making sure it stays dry. Seems to be of decent quality construction. I chose it over the hard-shell case for better flexibility of what will fit in there. This offers very light protection within your luggage but anything that would break your watch when loose would likely still crush it when in here.It\'s probably worth 4 stars for being decent quality, but I\'ve been burnt more than once by my 405 being dead when I wanted to run simply because being in my luggage causes it to drain itself. After years of zero issues with the 305 this is aggravating. Since Garmin surely knows about this issue, one would think that any \'official\' case would be designed in a way to hold the 405 and similar watches to ensure that doesn\'t happen. I\'m annoyed that the best they can come up with is a generic mesh case that will help this problem but not in a way that\'s better than any toiletry case would. You are paying for the name and the mesh breath-ability, not for any designed-for-forerunner work.
- I bought this to store my Garmin FR 70 heart monitor and it fits perfectly. The case is lightweight and made of soft fabric but seems adequately padded to keep the items from being scratched or damaged while carrying in a bag. The inside has two net pouches, one on each side. The heart monitor strap has to be folded over on itself to fit in the pouch but it does fit. The watch fits nicely on the other side. When I first received it it seemed a little large to me but smaller would require wadding the heart monitor chest strap. I am very happy with this purchase and feel it protects my heart monitor without adding a lot of bulk and weight to my gym bag.
- I initially bought the item to hold my Garmin Virb X/E cam. As it turns out, its really made for the Garmin Edge 1030 or 1000 (although Garmin\'s website also lists it as a stand alone storage carrying case). It\'s a soft mesh case, unlike the oversized hard capsule case I purchased years ago. It offers some protection, but it depends on what you use it for...
- I love my Garmin Edge 200 Bike GPS and was looking for a case to keep it safe when it was not on my bike. This carrying case is simply a large zippered case without internal dividers. I\'d recommend it for someone who is looking to store a whole bunch of items and cables...but it is far too big for the Garmin Edge series. It may work well as a place to keep several phone chargers and USB cables, along with the Edge GPS and other items.I give it 4-stars for build quality and materials. I am keeping it to use for other purposes. As for my Garmin Edge 200...I bought a small-sized cell phone holster that is a better fit to keep the small Edge 200 protected.
- I loved the idea of a storage case while I\'m not wearing my Garmin. I am able to keep my Garmin 360, heart rate strap, and charger in the case keeping everything together. I do find myself wanting a small pouch on the outside for my ear buds. Oh well, can\'t have it all. I haven\'t used the case for traveling yet, but when I do I will be sure to update. It seems well padded. If you have a larger Garmin it may be difficult to keep your charger in the case but mine fits well and does seem to have some room for more.
