- When shopping for a device to keep my valuable items within my reach, or as close as one can and still be detached, I found that for the cost verse size, and wide applications, as well as services available this product hit all the right slots on my reviewing. This came quickly fully charged and easy to use, ready to install or simply carry in a backpacke or, in the car, and began sending signals as soon as the service was installed. With the wide range of tracking feedback options, and the shared aspect more than one could be aware of our shared interest in our investments, and with the easy to install recharger the crew of drivers never had to be aware they were under my umbrella of security while the fleet went about the day . Gradually we are gaining a better understanding of the minute by minute travels, and can improve our efforts as we learn to keep in mind the daily travels of everything and everyone, we value. Going forward it\'s clear this is valuable information and the 1 time we must rely on this service to regain a lost item, will be the one day we limit our loss. I only wish I had made this purchase sooner, but we live and learn.This is a product well worth the entry price for products and services are on going but that is the investment.
- Bike thefts are rampant in Southern Florida right now and people will walk up to your garage and ride off, even looking at your cameras while doing it. Wanted to have a tracking device to be able to recover my E-bike in the event it does get stolen. It is small enough to fit inside the down tube of my bike and not affect the performance of the bike, nor the device. Battery lasts about 3 weeks on a single charge, and easy to recharge and tuck back inside the bike before riding off. The price is great, service plan is affordable as well at $25-$35/mo depending on month-to-month or a year plan. Open the box, go online, select plan and enter the IMEI number and your card to pay the plan. Took less than 5 minutes to activate. Charged it, and good to go. Shows slight movement from my house to the neighbors occasionally even when not in motion, but pretty darn accurate. Never more than a house away from its actual location. When I do go for a ride, it is always accurate. Only slightly off when not in motion for a few hours or more. Great for remembering when I lock up the bike if I forget too. Also perfect for speed verification.
- I had a car stolen, and later recovered by Police, but after that I realized that these trackers are very useful when you need them. So I decided to buy one of these to try them.I live in Puerto Rico, so I was worried about service in the island. But once it arrived I was able to make it work, and the map for Puerto Rico is pretty accurate, which is amazing.Do not forget to charge your device, it will take about 5 hours to fully charge.The web page lets you know about a few of the functions, and understand the lights. It is really easy to use. You have to pay a monthly fee of either $30 or $25 a month, depending on how you decide to suscribe to the service, month by month or an annual basis. They charge by month, which is nice, I thought I was going to get charged the whole year up front.So far I am very happy with this, and it is a nice alternative to other services.I am thinking of buying other device for my other cars.
- So, there are quite a few glowing reviews on this product. To be fair, it\'s pretty decent, but there are a few quirks.Cons- The website used for all tracking and reporting IS NOT HTTPS (secured using TLS / SSL); your logon and password are sent unencrypted for the tracking portal. I would expect that at least the logon part of the session to use HTTPS.- Your entire browsing session for the SpyTec Portal IS NOT HTTPS; anyone able to sniff your network traffic knows exactly what you are browsing while on the Portal- The GPS seems to be off by up to about 30-40 feet on our unit; may lead to improper street address resolution. We\'ve found this to be the case if the unit is indoors, or outdoors, but especially if it\'s inside a building somehow.- The web portal seems to be geared to tracking \"drivers,\" as if this product is only to be used for tracking vehicles. Not a big deal, but it is small enough to be able to be used for just about any useful GPS purpose. Not exactly a con, but it does make using the web portal slightly strange.Pros- The SpyTec web portal is well thought out in general- The web portal can be accessed from any modern browser, not limiting you to a specific Android or iOS application, for example- The service does allow you to define areas to be notified when the GPS leaves / returns to certain area- It appears to be much more effective than bracelet GPS devices sold for children, especially in that it works to some extent inside buildings- Mapping / Reporting is based on Google Maps, and that\'s pretty niceBackground:We purchased this unit to track our 3 year old child that suffers from an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. He\'s doing well, but he can\'t communicate well verbally. Recently, he ran away in a large mall, and it was nearly impossible to find him, let alone track him. After doing a fair bit of research it was clear that many of the devices on the market do not work well inside buildings, etc. We purchased this unit to enable us to be able to find him in a mall.Our success is mixed, but it DOES generate enough information to allow law enforcement to know where to look. Moreover, you can give them the logon and let them search with as close to real time data as you can get.On an adult sized individual, the device would be fairly small. On a small child, the belt clip would be a decent size, and would likely be noticed. However, if put inside a jacket or coat, the device is easy to hide and harder to find. (The down side would be if the coat was taken off...)I do want to be VERY clear about the lack of security on the Spy Tec website portal. There is none.It\'s extremely odd that in this day and age they would not have a secure website. The fact that the logon (at minimum) is not HTTPS (specifically TLS if you know what that is) means that your user ID and password are easily picked up.DO NOT USE A STANDARD USER ID OR PASSWORD WITH THE SPY TEC WEB PORTAL.

- What I like: the accuracy, speed, tells me exactly where the car is.Dislike: battery life (quickly dies over a few days) doesn’t break down the trips by the date it run all together but it definitely tells u alot

- Small and compact, easy to set up! User friendly software, had it up and running within 30 min! Very accurate GPS, small and compact, easy to hide in a vehicle without the target knowing it’s there! You do have to pay monthly for a plan to host the GPS, but well worth it!
