I have read that in some cases the power pins are invertes, i just connected to a usb power and it worked fine, i haven\'t install on my car, i mustly use it on my motocycle
Was nervous about getting after mixed reviews but mine works perfectly. No problems at all so far. Went on long trip with no trouble.

I got the TomTom Rider motorcycle GPS for free as a review copy, and I don\'t have a motorcycle. So my husband found this online, and I ordered it. It works extremely well except for one thing - while I had the TomTom connected to this and sitting and charging on my counter, this kept jumping off the counter. And yes, I know how to make it stick. It\'s got the suction thing at the bottom, and it would stick just fine. And then I would walk off and a couple hours later, I\'d hear a thunk. And you can\'t blame a dirty counter. I cleaned the spot off very carefully.The good - I was able to review the TomTom & say it\'s quite sturdy & can handle a fall. The bad - this caused the fall. Both times. Which means no matter what the description says, I can\'t stick this to the window. I currently have it glued down to the dashboard. It hasn\'t jumped off yet, but then the glue is pretty strong.
Stays where I put in on the inside of the windshield. Looks great. Does what I hoped for.

Bought it used, the other reviews are correct, you cannot plug into the base and expect it to work, you have to plug into the unit.Since I bought the TomTom for my motorcycle, I just needed something for my car. This fit the bill and the price was right.
