- I wish I would have made my decision sooner to get a refund. I’m 2 weeks past the deadline. I’ve lost my patience with this device and feel with the amount of money I spent for it, it should operate betterAs many other reviews state, it automatically just disconnects and takes several (5-6 mins) for it to restart and connect.The apps in the play store aren’t compatible so we’re stuck with just the basic apps. They marketed and sold this product as being more compatible.Beware. There’s definitely better options. My friend bought one same price and theirs works perfect.I wanted to give this a fair shot and screwed myself by doing so. Now instead of getting a full refund, i guess my only option is to contact customer support and get a new unit.
- I did give this item 5 stars. The one I did receive. It came with previous owners, Wi-Fi settings, and Bluetooth. When the item is plugged up and working, if you move the box, the system will disconnect and restart. When it was working it works great.
- Honestly, I really thought I would like this product because I really hated my phone being tethered to my car by the lightning cable. Cue the MAJOR DOWNSIDE: you’re going to be jamming out to really good song and this device is just going to randomly disconnect from your phone.. I say that because it now happens almost every single time I get in the car. On top it disconnecting frequently, and it takes a hot minute for it to actually connect. My car goes through a full sequence of disconnecting and reconnecting to this device.This does actually come with a traditional USB and a USB-C connector so that if your car has either, you can plug it in to either one of the ports. However, the USB-C cord would not work in my car (no power light would come on nor would the device register)For reference I drive a 2022 RAV4 Limited.
- So I like the idea of basically turning my cars screen into an android tablet but it takes a while to load up I think it\'s better if maybe you had some sort of battery in it with would keep it powered on a low power setting so it could be turned on instantly. I think it will speed up the load time.
- We took this on a long trip in our 2018 audi sq5- most apps are not compatible with the version of Android or hardware it’s running. This including common streaming apps. Netflix says it has an update go to the App Store and it says Netflix isn’t compatible. This means at some point Netflix will stop working when they stop allowing the version. Myq garage door opener app - nope- my car has a touch pad not screen , this makes it difficult to impossible to navigate. Yes it was on the compatible list. I would say a touch screen is a must.- randomly reboots and then wont load without multiple unplugging and plugging back in- sounds gets crackle after a while- takes forever to boot. Probably a mile or two into the drive. Not to bad but a little annoying. I have another CarPlay wired to wireless that works well And boots fast- support is unresponsive- if you have a touch screen it will probably be good enough for Netflix. Don’t touch it once you get it going.
- I bought this for a 2021 RAV4 XSE after discovering our vehicle did not have wireless Apple CarPlay in it. I truly did not expect it to work as smoothly as it has so far. I plugged it into my CarPlay port, connected my phone to it via Bluetooth, and it worked flawlessly! I was very, very surprised as I expected it to have issues but none.It takes about 20 seconds for the phone to connect when starting up the vehicle which is no big deal in my opinion. One small gripe which is not an issue of the device is CarPlay immediately wants to start playing music due to the way it is coded. Apparently this is a Apple CarPlay issue and not because of the device. We made a quick triggered shortcut on our phones that automatically pauses any music once CarPlay connects. It solved the issue.You can easily switch phones by disconnecting your phone via Bluetooth and connecting another one. It will automatically connect to whichever phone was last connected when you start the vehicle.Overall, I am really impressed. I was expecting issues and lag between the phone and CarPlay but there is none. If you want to turn your wired CarPlay into wireless, this device works flawlessly (at least with our RAV4).
