Really makes my Montana a great navigation device for my off road vehicles. With the power connection and speaker, I like using this for navigation better than using my nuvi. If you are going to use your Montana in the car, on or off road, this is essential because otherwise your batteries will go dead over the course of a day. Also, running off batteries will not give you as much screen brightness as on the car battery power. I love this solution for my back roads, trails, and highway. I never have to worry about dead batteries, and I can take the Montana out of the car when I am hiking and the batteries are always charged and ready to go.2/17/2016 Update: I have read several reviews where they say the suction cup isn\'t strong enough to hold the Montana unit. I have experienced a few times when mine dropped off, but it has either been the fault of a dirty windshield or a dirty suction cup. Whenever I wash the windshield and the suction cup with cleaner, then rinse them both with water and let them dry, I get great adhesion. I use my Montana on some of the roughest Jeep trails Utah has to offer, and as long as I use my routine, the GPS stays put. In fact, I think I will buy another mount so I won\'t have to switch the mount to my other vehicles as often.
Had to buy another one and that did the same thing. They both broke a wire at the 12v inlet.So before I bought a 3rd one I ended up cutting the wire and wiring it direct to 12v.
I use this with my Garmin Montana 680T. It fits perfectly and the turn by turn directions are clear through the small speaker. My only product annoyance is the suction cup strength/clap is not quite as strong as I wish it was. It falls off occasionally (although it is rare) from the windshield. I have it placed so that it more just flops onto the car\'s dash but I wish the suction clamp was stronger to prevent this. Yes, I cleaned the windshield prior to positioning it there.Update 5/18/2016 - The suction issue has steadily gotten worse. I try to remember to pull the unit anytime I stop any where even it is for a short amount of time. If I do not I will come back to my unit laying in the floor. It has fallen (luckily only a few times) while I was driving. I position it so its mostly flops onto the dash but it slides off in the floor most of the time. The suction cup is super weak and gets weaker over time resulting in failure. The 680T is heavy but a larger and stronger suction cup setup should have been utilized.As a result I have downgraded my recommendations to 2 stars. It is a shame because the idea is great.
I bought this as a gift for my hunting buddy. He has been using it for about a month and has no complaint. It hasn’t been used much on rough roads though so we will be curious to see if the suction cup will hold it to the window. He had the problem of it not being within eye sight and with it bouncing out of his cup holders. And this should fix that as long as it stays in the window on extremely rough roads.
It sticks on real good. I mostly wanted it for power source. I happy with it
I\'ve mounted this on both a flat, almost vertical, windshield and a standard angles windshield with no problems. Mostly use it in jeep with a lot of rough offroading, hasn\'t fallen off yet. Built in speaker is nice too. I like the fact that I can easily move the device from one car to another or even the boat. Doubled my use of my Garmin GPS. Legit product.

It would be nice if you could tell whether a specific product will work for you before you buy it, unfortuantely thats not the case. In this situation there was too much space between the windsheild and the dash board making installation next to impossbile. I rate this product four stars because I was able to go out and buy the base for a different mount and disengage the cradle from this mount and snap it into the ball joint of the other. Versatility is a great thing.
