TAKEWELL Bicycle Saddle Seat-Post Mount for Garmin Varia Rear View Radar Light, Compatible for RTL500, RTL510, RTL515, RVR315, Aluminum Alloy Mount Holder for Bicycle Saddle/Seat Bow
- Works well but if you’re riding rough terrain you can snap the ties. I’ve gone through two pairs of zip ties because I noticed they broke while riding. They need to be tight so your device isn’t bouncing around. But I think because the weight is hanging down it puts a lot of stress on the zip ties. Other than that it works as intended.
- i found this a very clever implementation of all the complex designs out there trying. very nice fit and finish, but i couldnt keep it as my 150mm dropper post brings the seat low enough to buzz my 29\" wheel at max compression. almost snapped off my varia. will purchase again when i get a gravel bike.
- The lip on the plastic mounting puck broke off after a few months.OK, not great, but not a huge deal. I go to a Trek store that sells Garmin parts and they sell me a replacement Garmin mounting puck. For reasons that make no sense, these people didn\'t match the bolt pattern garmin uses - it\'s about 2 to 4 mm wider. So I had to trim up the Garmin puck to make it work.It\'s still a slick mount and I\'m surprised that nobody else makes one. These people get credit for an innovative idea, not for making a great product.
- This mount fits my bike perfectly. My saddle is a Selle Royal Gel Athletic style and this is the best mount for my Garmin Varia 515 rear light radar. It uses two zip ties which are far more reliable than the O Rings supplied by Garmin for the Varia rear light radars. It is also better than the Garmin Seat Post Mount they sell for $20 on their website. I\'m returning that one as soon as I order and get another one of the Takewell mounts. I also tried the Huayuwa saddle mount (4 screws style) but that was not compatible with my saddle. It is also very heavy and this Takewell mount is featherweight but solid. Another thing to consider, this mount places the light higher than the seat post mounts and is virtually hidden under the saddle. Now if I bring this bike to my local bike shop they will not have to remove the saddle mount to secure the bike on a stand, a problem I\'ve had in the past. I was reluctant to purchase this item because no one had yet to review this item but I am very happy I did. So two other mounts are being returned and I am purchasing another Takewell mount for my other bike. Garmin should be providing this mount for their lights with simple zip ties and not the Junk rubber O-Rings which are prone to fail sooner or later. Also consider the Bininiu Mount. It also fits my saddle and is almost identical to the Takewell Mount only it uses two screws to secure it whereas the Takewell mount uses two zip ties. These two brands are excellent and weigh the same, ~1 ounce.
- Close but since it can’t be adjusted it’s not perpendicular to the ground when the bike is level. Seems nice, wiggled a tiny bit after tightening as much as possible, but if it doesn’t work on my very standard gravel bike angles then I can’t imagine it working for many bikes, at least in the optimal position.
- I have a Canyon with their suspension seatpost. Because of the split seatpost I couldn\'t get the Varia mounted very high up. Not only that, the single elastic band stock mount didn\'t provide much peace of mind for long term durability. I bought this mount based on the few reviews left. While this would allow me to get the Varia mounted higher, I was concerned about how solid the mount would be with just the two zip ties. I can\'t praise this mount enough. It is SOLID! If you\'re like me and prefer a bar bag and/or top tube bag over a saddle bag, this is the mount for you. Highly recommended!!!
- Only surprising thing was that it uses zip ties - but that ended up being fine. I get a lot of questions about this - where did I get it, etc. The garmin mount never stayed in place during rides on my aero seatpost. It drove me banannas. This stays in place, and is out of sight. Just remember - only works if you don\'t have saddle bag - which I don\'t.
- I was trying to secure the holder with zip ties and the zip ties fell apart in my hands. I think it will hold with the zip ties I purchased and used instead. But there are similar products with screws and a back plate. I wish I had purchased one of those models instead.
