Garmin Approach G12, Clip-on Golf GPS Rangefinder, 42k+ Preloaded Courses, 010-02555-00
- Great golf GPS. Convenient and easy to use.
- I purchased the Garmin Approach G12 golf range finder and it has worked out great for me. I\'ve had it for a full golf season and this truly has helped me to become better at figuring out which golf club to use depending on the distance to the green. When you start, it finds the course you are at, it asks if you want to use the score feature, and what color will you be teeing off from. (Black, blue, gold, white, red) It took me a bit to become quick in navigating the buttons to score and advance to the next hole. I had to figure out how to change holes when our start off was not on #1, but was on #10 instead for the back nine. I also save all of my games using the blue tooth connection to the app on my phone, so that I can refer back to them. You can scan all of your games, where you played, your score etc... There are features that I probably am not using as yet but I\'ll figure it out eventually. I think for the money, this is small, simple, and easy to carry. I have it on a short lanyard to hang from my belt area.
- Great product
- Good for yardage and clips wells to belt loops.
- I started golfing and it greatly helps to know how far it is to the flag. My wife purchased a range finder and it was a pain to pull out and sight the target and then put away. I have this clipped on my cap and just take a glance. My wife now uses a phone app with her apple watch and also uses it to keep score and she gets similar distances. I don\'t even mess with the garmin phone app. The accuracy seems to be within 10yards of what others even with range finders are determining so plenty good for my skill level.
- I have used it on the golf course twice now at two different courses. The device is easy to read while playing (I usually use +1.25 reading glasses but don\'t need them to see the numbers on this unit). It is high contrast black and white (not color). I live in Phoenix Arizona so I had no trouble finding all of my local courses in the catalogue which easily loaded on to the device. It seems to take a minute or two before it locates the satellites but once it does, the numbers calculate and show quickly. It is not as precise as those higher end range finders you look through right at the pin, but if you know the pin placement (front, middle, back), this device is plenty accurate. I am an intermediate golfer so get me to the center of most greens and that is a win. It also does a good job telling you how far the intermediate hazards are from where you are. I have not tried the shot measurement feature yet, but it is easy to find in the menu. Overall, I am very satisfied so far.
- I have loved the Garmin Approach G12 so far. Easy to read, accurate (see below), don\'t need anything else besides yardage (I know it offers more).1. If you look at yardage when you first put your bag down, it will be wrong. The device is still updating where you are and will drop a few (up to 10) yards before is \"locks in\" -- Fine, not a huge issue, just need to remember2. The clip itself is horrendous. I\'m honestly shocked I haven\'t lost it. It breaks free from the device constantly. When I take off my bag (to charge or put on a different bag), it will take me several times to re-clip because the clip itself will break from the device. Re-attach clip to device and try again (3x-4x every time).
- It’s nice works good it’s big but it needs a magnet.
