- I have been doing going on some trips, traveling by bicycle and bought this for navigation so I am not using up my phone’s battery. Honestly the navigation on my phone using the Ride with GPS app was much better. I ended up need to use my phone on several occasions because the alerts and visuals were more accurate, prominent and timely. The other issue I encountered was the mount kept coming loose when riding on rough roads, no matter what I did.One other issue is that it kept wanting me to provide an emergency contact in case of an accident, which I didn’t feel comfortable adding yet since I am not sure how it works or how well it works. When plugging in to charge the device it kept turning on the power and beeping, asking to add an emergency contact. This was annoying as we were trying to sleep. I found no way to stop that from appearing.If just using to record rides it probably works great.
- Replaced an old Garmin Forerunner that I had mounted to my handlebars. I was tired of jumping through hoops to upload my rides via Ant+ and wanted something with Bluetooth, as well as something with a touch screen and ability to integrate with the Garmin Varia. The 820 checked all the boxes and was reasonably priced. Happy with it so far.My only complaint it the non-user-friendly interface. Every Garmin product seems to suffer from poor UI design, and this one is no different. One star off for that.
- Works like new, just the job, and a lot more user friendly than I expected. More so, being refurbished it looks especially good. No scratches, cosmetic issues or the like
- Works great. No issues so far, but will update my review should something stop working.
- I purchased this refurbished Edge 820. It connected to my computer one time, which allowed me to set it up. Then I could never get it to make a connection again. I tried three different USB cords, but none worked. I had to return it for another one.
- I have purchased a few Garmin refurb units in that past and have found equal performance with Out of Box New.The unit performs well and it compact enough to still use your handle bars.
