Dasaita 10.2 Android 11 Radio for Toyota Corolla 2014 2015 2016 Bluetooth Stereo GPS Navigation PX6 DSP Wireless Carplay 1280 x 720 HD Android Auto Head Unit
- Overall, I\'m pretty happy with this head unit/stereo/tablet/whatever it is so far (I installed it last weekend). I\'m putting it at 3 of 5 stars now because it intermittently is failing to power on when I start the vehicle (more on that below). I may raise the rating later if I can overcome this problem myself.I got it because I wanted Carplay/Android Auto in my car (2015 Corolla). After reading reviews on a few different versions of the Dasaita infotainment system for the Corollas, I expected that this one would require my android auto experience to be wired. I was pleasantly surprised after linking via Bluetooth that Android Auto continued to work once I unplugged the phone from the USB.Installation of the unit is not particularly hard. As most reviews and videos have shown, I did have to cut away/file away a portion of the faceplate to get the front dashboard panel to fit flush, but that only took a few minutes with tools I already had in the house. The biggest issue so far is that the main connector is only held in place by a single tab connector. The weight of the extra wiring harness hanging down into the cavity inside the front dash has caused the connector to misalign and the device didn\'t power on properly when I started the car. As a result, I have already had to open everything back up and re-arrange everything a couple of times in the four days since my initial installation. Each time I open it up, I do more and more to try to support the weight of the original cables and the new wiring. Hopefully, this last time will be the *last time*, but I have a couple more difficult things I can try if it happens again. One other slightly negative note: The USB plug/adapter that connects to the OEM USB port doesn\'t carry enough power to actually charge my Samsung Galaxy S20 while Android Auto/Google Maps is running; the charge was slowly going down as I drove. However, since I can connect to Android Auto over Bluetooth, I can charge my phone on the quick-charge wireless car charger that I already had been using.
- I set out to replace a stock head unit in a 2014 Toyota Corolla because I didn\'t want my teenage daughter to be without CarPlay for safety reasons. I was attracted to this Dasaita model because it looked like an easy snap in for this Corolla and seemed like a good value. After 18 months, I (and my daughter) have been really happy with how it looks, sounds, operates, and most importantly, keeps eyes on the road with CarPlay.Pros:+ Adequate power and EQ helps get the most out of stock speakers+ CarPlay and Android Auto work flawlessly (and now wirelessly for both after a firmware update!)+ Finished installation appearance looks VERY good+ Highly customizable - basically an Android tablet with an amp (Think ODB2 device + Bluetooth + Android app possibilities)+ Steering wheel control (customizable!) and backup camera compatibility+ Displays HVAC status and tire pressure readings+ Firmware development is ongoing and somewhat easy to upgrade+ Everything worked first try+ 3 USB data imports (fixed under dash and two pigtails kept in glove box) - co-pilot DJ-friendlyCons:- Low confidence I can speak to a human if I start to have trouble. Fortunately, it\'s been rock solid.- Installation documentation is sometimes hard to follow. Sometimes I felt I was on my own to figure things out.- If I didn\'t have YouTube, I wouldn\'t have known to trim some plastic pieces behind the bezel as mentioned in other reviews here- It\'s not clear if I\'m stuck in Android 10 for the life of this vehicle or not, despite MCU and firmware update availability. I\'m led to believe this is not a trivial process in their user forums.- The remote mic doesn\'t seem to work that well, even mounted at the top of the A-pillar. It\'s hard to tell if this is because of noise cancelling algorithms or if it\'s just a lower-quality mic. I read a forum post where someone replaced the mic with the same results, so I\'m crossing my fingers this could be addressed with a firmware update at some point. The head also has a built-in mic, which I haven\'t tested yet.Overall, I would recommend this for anyone who just bought a \'14-16 Corolla and wants a better head unit. YouTube is your friend during installation.
- This is a really great unit and integrates with the car very very well I am very surprised. It looks really nice and fits with all of the trim and the car too with just minor cutting of the plastic based on what year vehicle you have. But the reason it doesn\'t have the best review for me is because they skimped in some important areas for example the Wi-Fi chip which is the only way you\'re going to be able to get internet on the unit is a garbage chip. Because of this it will never be able to support wireless Android auto natively unless they can figure out a workaround app. It doesn\'t even have 5 gigahertz Wi-Fi my phone says that the maximum connection speed is 78 megabits per (@ 1 ft from the unit) second it really would have been so nice to put a dual band Wi-Fi in here or a Wi-Fi chip capable of hotspot and receiving Wi-Fi signals at the same time. if this is impossible there\'s to costly the second option you could do was to put a decent amount of charging current on the USB ports make them at least 15-20w quick charge capable. As far as everything else on the unit the px6 chip seems pretty quick the 720p display seems to be plenty for the car would be nice if it was 1080p. the last thing I would say is to not lock your ROM down so much where you can\'t even get to developer options or night mode or anything like thatjust frustrating when you know how to fix the issues on the unit but you can\'t because there\'s no developer options or certain areas are locked and non-existent.
