- The unit is a great value for the price and functions fairly well.The touchscreen is not super responsive. Seems to work better with a slower more deliberate touch.The display is not bad and is very large.The sound quality of the unit is really good for the price and is much better than the original factory unit.I had a couple of installation/setup issues due to lack on installation instructions.1. The rear view camera I installed was not showing on the unit when I switched to reverse.I reached out to the support email awesafe-us.ca@outlook.com and received a response the next day with a picture showing the correct connection for a rearview camera. I hadnt noticed a wire labeled reverse on the back of the unit because it was in the middle of the power harness. I had incorrectly connected the trigger wire from the camera to the wire that is beside the camera input. This is not the correct wire. The email pointed out that the correct wire was the brown wire (3rd wire in the power harness) that I needed to connect to for the reverse signal. After moving the wire the camera then worked.2. I found the setting for switching the temperature units from C to F but the setting didn\'t work. You need the code 3368 to get to the setting. I reached out to the support email awesafe-us.ca@outlook.com and again received a response the next day. The reply to my email had a link for 2 .apk files and asked that I download them to a usb drive and install them on the unit using its built in file explorer. This was an easy process and after installing the .apk files that were provided the unit would allow me to change from C to F.All and all I am very happy with the unit and the price.
- I have had this installed for a couple of weeks to give it a bit of use before I did a review on it. Over all it is a decent radio for the price, and it allows you to have a couple of things that did not come on the car like a touch screen, or backup camera. The cons on this radio though had me wishing I did a little more shopping around though. The sound quality isn\'t really that good. After turning up the radio a little over half volume the distortion is terrible. The other con is the lag of the bluetooth. When having a conversation on the phone you have to give them a little bit of time before you respond. Same with the music, it lags what the phone is actually doing as well. The installation is pretty easy for a DIY. Pretty much plug and play and syncing the steering wheel is a breeze as well. As far a hooking up subwoofers to it another thing I am not a fan of is it only has one channel out, for guys like me that like to bridge their subwoofer it makes it a little more of a pain.
- Still figuring out the kicks to this but whenever I’m using CarPlay my music keeps stopping consistently and playing again. You can’t use the gps unless you have your hotspot on your phone on.
- This android radio is fantastic. Super easy install and everything works. I was skeptical with some reviews which talked about issues. I have zero issues with climate control, measurement units, or steering wheel controls. The customer service helped me through the Celsius to Fahrenheit issue and they were great to work with. If you\'re on the fence about getting one of these units...just do it
- Instructions seem to not really follow what I had in the car, but I did get it to work. Huge upgrade to the car. Very cool.
- Settings Critical Hint: Touch-slide down touchscreen from the top of the screen.This is the first Android device I owned, so I spent a lot of time trying to find the SETTINGS for the device. I watched 20 different video\'s before I accidentally figured it out.Warning: There is a white harness from the car (photo 2) which connected to the original stereo, but there is no place to connect to this AWESAFE unit. Everything works, but I have NOT tested the rear window defrost.I was able to configure steering wheel buttons through the settings code. A User Manual came with the device, but it is very superficial and not helpful. I was able to learn through watching competing product videos on YouTube. There is no installation help with this brand or unit. My biggest concern is that I cannot determine what that white electrical harness is supposed to do.The radio and music sound is excellent . AC controls work. (at least fan and AC on/off.) I have not tried to set up the variable left/right temp controls yet.I struggled to connect to WiFi. But I\'m assuming it is an Android thing that I need to figure out.The device fit perfectly in my car. This was a $250 unit. Now that I have this experience, there are similar units that are much cheaper, but you would have to custom mount the unit somehow.I am pleased with the unit and happy with the sound. It has been operating just fine for 2 months. I have Apple devices that connect through Bluetooth and direct USB.
- Whenever you turn on the climate control, the A/C always defaults to on. It doesn\'t remember what the last setting was, so it\'ll run your A/C, even in the middle of winter. You can turn the A/C off right away of course, but the compressor still turns on for a second, which will diminish it\'s lifespan.Also the temp control doesn\'t work unless the fan is on. Normally, I don\'t use the fan and adjust the temp on the ambient airflow in the winter time. So now I have to leave the fan on in order to adjust the temp.Overall, it\'s nice to have a modern big screen in the car that connects to my phone, but the bugs in the climate control really detract from it. Also, adjusting volume is annoying while driving. It\'s a small button on the screen.
- This system is a great fit for my 2005 Honda Accord. It was fairly easy to install. I paired it with a back-up camera and works well. The Navi app also works well. The only complaints I have is that the AC temperature readout is in Celsius not Fahrenheit. There is an option to switch from C to F but it doesn\'t work. The resolution is also fairly low on some apps. However for the price this an excellent deal. People who see the system for the first time don\'t believe the car is a 2005 model.
