  • I bought one of these for my wife\'s car and found it so intuitive and hassle-free that I decided I needed one for my rental car. Unlike the ridiculous TomTom goose-neck design, this one is not prone to being top-heavy.Assembly is really easy and it lasts a long time. Once you put it together and get it orientated the way you want it, you\'ll probably never adjust it again. There is one small mod that I want to point out. As is, the GPS is mounted very low which might make it harder to see depending on where you have it situated in your car. I wanted a little more altitude out of it. So here\'s what you do . . .When you install the flat T-notch adapter, instead of mounting it with all 4 screws, align the bottom two holes with the upper two holes on the flat backplate (the one held in place by the swivel ball). This will give you and extra inch of altitude to your GPS. If you\'re not sure what to do with the leftover screws, just put them in the empty slots and fasten the nuts to them to hold them in place--this way they\'ll be there in the off chance you need them.In conjunction with this GPS mount I also highly recommend the Bracketron beanbag dash mount.
  • I bought this mount based on Gray Geezer Man\'s review and am very happy with the mount. Thank you! I paired the Bracketron Low Pro Windshield mount with the Glisson beanbag mount like he did. The suction cup on the Bracketron Low Pro is about 3 inches in diameter; much bigger than the mounts that come with most GPS units and thus much more powerful. I am using the Magellan Maestro 4700; I cannot comment on how this would work with a Garmin. However, Garmin makes their own dedicated dashboard mounts that would probably be better than this set up.For me, the square shape of the Glisson bean bag fits on the dashboard snugly against the dashboard cowl (think diamond orientation with one corner pointed at the windshield) much better than the round Bracketron bean bag nav-mat. I keep a rectangular plastic container (no lid) that I just put the entire assembly (Magellan Maestro 4700, Bracketron Low Pro, Glisson Beanbag, and power cable) in and put in my trunk to keep it out of sight and protected when not in use.
  • In the product picture there are TWO different ball bearing type mounts. But in the box is only ONE! The box includes the ball bearing mount for the Garmin not the TomTom.It seems that the SWM-400-BL used to be called the LOW-PRO but now that part number belongs to the Universal GPS Nav-Pro and different parts are included in the box. Also, In order to attach it to the Magellan you have to use the satellite radio adapter stacked against the Magellan adapter. (You even have to screw the parts together so you will need a screwdriver and a small wrench.) Once you add all of these adapters it does NOT work well with the Nav-Mat. All of the stacked mounts make it very long, so it does not rest very well on the edge of the Nav-Mat if you need a low profile adapter.I do not recommend it for a Magellan as it attaches to the unit like an afterthought. (Yes, this is how it is represented in the instructions.) Also, it does not have the TomTom adapter. However, the product looks durable and well built.
  • This is the best windshield suction mount I have purchased from Amazon. It holds fast and provides all the option for devices in one unit. I am very pleased with this mount. I purchased a magnetic dashboard mount to use with it and I could not be more satisfied as I use my Iphone as a GPS device.
  • Although I don\'t have a need for the other adapters (i.e.for Garmin, Tom Tom) I found this bracket to be well constructed, easy to put together (4 screws for appropriate adapter) and the suction cup is very wide and strong. It\'s pretty easy to use. Its low profile design looks much sleeker and nicer than the factory one you get with your nav system. This is a really good alternative to the factory bracket.2014 - clamp button which provides suction cup to stick to something broke. Not as sturdy as I thought.
  • Item is as described but the problem was, I paid extra for the 2-day shipping and got in the time frame of standard shipping. Not happy at all.
  • This suction mount is much better than the stock one that comes with most Garmin GPS units. My experience is that when the windshield gets hot, the stock suction cup fails and comes off of the glass. The Braketron suction cup has much more powerful suction. I bought my first one from Bass Pro Shops out of frustration while on vacation. Very glad I did. In fact, I just ordered another here on Amazon for a new GPS. Not even going to bother with the one that Garmin provides. (No knock against Garmin, but their suction cup doesn\'t suck. Pun intended)
  • Yet another well design, high quality product from Bracketron. I bought this to replace the Garmin factory mount. Unlike the factory mount, this one has two adjusting joints between the base and the GPS unit. This makes it easy to adjust the GPS when I switch from car to car and also easy to adjust to avoid glares in the GPS screen. The unit comes with many different mounts (as always with Bracketron) making it easy to mount different brands of GPS or other devices.
