  • I installed this to replace the dead stereo in my 2007 Mazda3. It was truly a drop-in replacement and just worked once I plugged in all the cables. Steering wheel controls, carplay (wired and wireless), USB, AM/FM, AUX, etc all work great pretty much right out of the box. The audio quality is good and seems better than the old OEM stereo. The backlight automatically dims when you turn the headlights on. I bought a refurbished unit as it was all that Amazon had at the time. The Eonon (MillionExpert) support team was helpful in helping replace a broken cable that came with the refurbished unit I bought. It fits the trim of the Mazda3 well (not quite perfect along the edges, but good enough). There\'s some poor translations throughout the software but nothing too disruptive. Overall, I\'m very happy with the unit for the price. It\'s really great. Some tips:- Pull the fuse for the stereo before installing. In the installation process I managed to blow the fuse and had to run to the store to get a replacement. After installation, it\'s been good.- Don\'t skip any cables - the CAN decoder is necessary for steering wheel controls. Because the steering wheel controls are coming through CAN and not through the analog wire, it does not appear to be possible to customize them, but they all worked as-designed out of the box.- The unit was missing the carplay (TLINK) app when I got it, but I was able to easily download this from a forum (v1.9.5 worked for me).- The buttons on the side of the screen weren\'t set up when I got the unit. I calibrated the screen (touch 5 fingers on the home screen launcher) and then it worked fine.- The color of the button backlight is always white and is not changeable on this unit. You can configure it in the settings to always be on (by default it is only in night mode / when the headlights are on) but it is always white. I covered them with a bit of lithographer\'s tape.- If you want a tempered glass screen protector for it, these models worked for me (they\'re all about the same dimensions). I was unable to find anything larger that wasn\'t too big for this unit, but these cover the whole screen area barely: Transwon Screen Protector for Qlink Scepter 8 Tablet, SKY Devices Elite Octa Tablet, or BLU M8L Tablet 8.- Occasionally, Carplay doesn\'t work and just won\'t connect. Rebooting my phone and/or the head unit seems to solve the problem.- I went into the settings to adjust the relative volumes of the various sources to turn down the radio volume. Otherwise, the radio is much louder than everything else.- I can\'t get the scan function on the radio to work and it seems like the radio occasionally forgets presets. Scan just scans through everything and never finds anything to stop on. A way to adjust the sensitivity would be nice.
  • The stereo itself is nice because it looks stock to the car but there\'s more things that you won\'t like is the connectivity with car play or android auto. You will have trouble with wifi interference. I recommend wired it\'s far more reliable and your phone\'s battery won\'t die as fast. The charging is very slow. It\'s probably a 2A charging which makes it too slow for today\'s demands. The sound is not as good and has very low volume compared to the stock stereo. You will have to play around with the EQ app on the unit to make it better. While playing music I noticed the Bluetooth logo is backwards, I know I\'m kinda picky but c\'mon man. I would like to change the keys settings to however I want long press or short press to use the assistant while driving. Needs improvement I like the unit like I said earlier. Just looks original to the car and that\'s what makes it good but I\'m looking forward for more updates to see if they can fix some problems.Edit: it only gets worse. The android auto \"t link\" doesn\'t even connect anymore. The stereo is very unreliable. This will be the last time I buy a unit from this company.
  • This brought my early 2000s Mazda right up to date in the infotainment area. Excellent screen size, lots of features and a great implementation of CarPlay. It’s the second Eonon I’ve bought for the second Mazda 3 I’ve owned. Both times it was a smart decision.
  • I replaced the first Eonon head unit with this newer model. The old one 7\" screen was so so at best. I looked at my options again and thought I\'d give them one more chance to see if quality improved. If not then lesson learned and I\'ll do it right with a name brand unit. Installation was very easy. There\'s alot to be said about plug and play. Plenty of room in the back, so cleaning up the wiring was easy too. Watch a few YouTube videos to help clear up the owners manual it\'s not very informative. Connected to the wife\'s iPhone easily enough and wireless apple car play worked good. Bluetooth call quality was bumpy, sound was great but the incoming audio would drop frequently. Overly complicated eq. 12 channels would have been plenty. Her phone disconnected from the head unit when she walked away from the car naturally, but when she got back in I had to close out the tlink app and restart it so car play would reconnect. Fit and finish on this unit is very good. It\'s got a factory look, fits the dash lines well, and the large screen bright and clear. I put the Mazda logo on the boot screen which helps sell the factory look. We\'ve only used for a week to date, and aside of the mentioned irritating issues it seems to be a nice unit. Only time will tell and if it goes down the same road as the old unit they will not get another chance. I\'ll update this review after I get more time with this/on this head unit.
