- Very well made and my computer is right out in front in the perfect position.
- Product came sooner then expected which is always a plus for me. Easy to install, and yes you can’t use the original mount but the mount that it comes with seems pretty sturdy and clicks in so I’m not worried that it falls out.. fingers crossed. I like it! I will test it out this weekend and hopes it stays in the mount and doesn’t break while riding. I will provide an update.
- What a great addition to mount my computer and my CATEYE headlamp out front without taking up room on my handlebars. I have Easton bars which are mostly flat so I have limited round sections to mount things to. This was a breeze to install and mounts very rigidly!
- You don\'t need to modify the mount for proper functionality, but I personally prefer the click feel of the OEM Bryton computer mount. When I mention kit mount I am referring to the product purchased. When I refer to the OEM mount I am referring to the Bryton standard mount that is provided with the Bryton bike computer(s).Here is what I did:I had to modify the OEM Bryton mount that comes with all the Bryton bike computers. It has a wavy bottom side which is designed that way to fit over a handlebar or stem. By grinding the plastic bottom side of the holder down to a flat surface will enable the OEM mount to work with this kit. Also, I had to drill two counter-sink type holes on the bottom of the OEM mount so that it could mount on this kit mount.This project requires basic tools such as a grinder or Dremel tool to flatten the bottom of the OEM mount and a drill with a small countersink bit. The countersink holes are important because they enable the use of the taper head screws which are necessary to mount totally flush with the bottom of the plastic holder. The taper mount screws are the ones that are provided in this kit.The most difficult part of the project was making sure I drilled the two holes in the precise locations on the bottom of the modified OEM holder. To ensure alignment I used a small clamp to hold the OEM holder to the aftermarket one which was used as a template to align the holes. Other methods may work as well such as measuring and marking it\'s up to you. The next thing you need to be careful of is when drilling the countersink holes. Because it is plastic you have to make sure not to over drill the depth of the holes as the plastic material drills very easily. I would suggest using a cordless drill set at the slowest possible speed and pay attention to the process visually while drilling. You basically want to create a tapered hole so the taper bolt will sit flush when tightened in place. As a suggestion, you could practice on a scrap piece of plastic of the same thickness first. This will give you the confidence of creating a perfectly drilled taper hole.If you attempt to do this yourself, please make sure you use safety glasses and take other safety measures to protect yourself. Time to complete project about 30 minutes
