I\'ve installed two of these now on my fifth-wheel trailer. The first one I added to one of the living room sliders that didn\'t yet have one, as I needed to route some ethernet cables for a workstation I added on that side. Then a year later the original flexguard on the OTHER side failed. The trailer is over 7 years old, so it lasted a good long time. So I bought the second one to replace the original flexguard. I used extra tie-wraps to secure the cables along the band, drilling holes in the band as needed. Especially on the replacement unit, where the cables were already in place, and I didn\'t want to go to the immense effort of pulling them out and then re-threading them through the holes in the five cable support plates. I did use these plates, but had to cut the web at each opening to place the cables into the opening. New cable ties at each support keep the cables within the openings. One odd issue with both Flexguards I purchased: The slots in the cable support plates are not quite long enough to fit the width of the band, which is supposed to slip into the slots. I simply used an appropriate drill bit, cutting sideways like a milling cutter, to carefully lengthen each slot. I narrow file would also work, but the plastic is quite soft and the drill ate into it quickly. Do remember to slip all five plates over the band before permanently mounting the band! I ended up fabricating a bracket for the non-pivot end (outer end) using a six-inch plated angle brace and a hunk of 1.5-inch galvanized steel angle, both of which can be found at home-improvement stores.
