- Bryton\'s got a tough road trying to crack the Garmin/Wahoo stranglehold on bike computers, but this might do it. It is basically a $700 Garmin 1040 for $399. Sleeker and thinner than the Garmin (or any bike computer I\'ve ever seen), from an aesthetic point of view this thing looks wicked sitting on your bike, expect lots of envied stares. The bigger knock against it (and Bryton\'s really failing in their promotion) is the screen. When you fire this thing up for the first time, you\'ll think its defective and want to return it. Don\'t.Got mine yesterday, set it up last night, downloaded some preplanned routes from Komoot. Was deeply concerned about the lackluster screen but bore in mind this device is specifically designed to look good OUTDOORS, that the screen really wouldn\'t photograph well and it would look really washed out indoors.Took it for a first ride this morning. WOW. Soon as I saw the screen in daylight (even overcast/cloudy as it was), it made a DRAMATIC difference. Most cellphones struggle in daylight, this device has been engineered to do the exact opposite. Also, most reviewers have their display set to the default \"night\" setting. You should flip it to \"day\" setting, where it looks much more like the Bolt v2-- VERY crisp, brilliant screen.Importing GPX files require an extra step, the Bryton app will ask if you first want to convert it to a turn-by-turn file, then send THAT file, not the original, over to the device. It\'s an extra step and a PITA, but the TBT worked absolutely flawlessly, with popups over my data screen that dismissed soon as I made the turn. This is a great device, one that more people should be talking about. But some will be put off by the dull screen if they see it in a store or first unbox it. Shine your cell phone\'s flashlight app directly at the screen and you\'ll see what I mean. I had to order the Bryton Mount Conversion Kit for Garmin Mount from Gambacicli, Italy. They FedExed it in 4 days. This thing is sleek, powerful, thin like a cell phone. a real game changer. Just wish they\'d shipped it with a Garmin mount.
